China Energy has launched the Shuaibah Solar Power Plant in Jeddah, establishing it as the Middle East’s largest solar facility with a capacity of 2.6 GW, according to China Energy.
[pdf] In 2011, The United States and Saudi Arabia jointly set up a solar-research station in Al-Uyaynah village. The village, located about 30 miles northwest of Riyadh, had no electric supply at the time. The station is operated by the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology. The agency established an experimental assembly line at the site to manufacture solar panels. The equipment on the assembly line was import.
[pdf] With a total investment value of approximately $8.3 billion (more than SAR 31 billion), the seven new projects aim to generate a combined capacity of 15,000 MW (12,000 MW solar PV and 3000 MW wind energy).
[pdf] The project, currently under construction and slated for commissioning in December 2024, represents a USD 300 Million investment and includes a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC).

[pdf] Zeekr was founded in March 2021 as a premium electric mobility brand for battery-powered vehicles by the Geely Group to compete against and , among others. Its first model, the Zeekr 001 was officially launched in April 2021. The Zeekr models are to be based on the SEA platform presented in autumn 2020. Zeekr started delivering the 001 model in October 2021, a vehicle originally planned to be launche.
